"Or Else"

Mostly, I felt a lot of pity for David. His desperation and desire to be a part of a family that he doesn't belong in is sad. He is most definitely a weird guy whose done some messed up stuff, but the reasons behind his actions lead me to have a difficult time really hating him. I liked that there was some sense of his deceit catching up with him when Violet arrives. I liked the details in the descriptions, and it was an interesting story, but mostly it just made me sad.
